Does anyone stock ergs to sell in Toronto?

Post by tarverator » January 9th, 2015, 1:44 am

Is there anyone (like a store) that stocks ergs in Toronto, Canada? I am looking for a black Model D with a PM3 or better and I would rather avoid shipping, taxes, and brokerage fees on a new one if I can't find anything suitable used.

Hi Tarverator,

Your timing might be perfect. They have the annual indoor rowing championships on Feb 1, 75 ergs are available. I was going to reserve one but this was back in October and they hadn't opened up for reservations until December. I ended up getting one in late October and unfortunately paid the shipping. Ended up being about $200 more with taxes and duties all in.

The website is here:
http://www.cdnindoorrowing.org/ergsales.html

Looks like they have 16 left available. Good luck.

Here's some of the details in the email they sent me when they reserved my erg but then I had already received one.

Your order of one Concept 2 Model D Ergometer with PM5 monitor will be available immediately after the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships on Sunday Feb. 1st, 2015.
Please send your cheque (or money order) for CDN $ 1130.00. Please indicate your reservation # with your payment.
We do accept payment through E-Mail EFT if you prefer.
Upon receipt of payment we will send you a CIRC Erg Payment Confirmation Receipt to bring with you to pick up your erg on Sunday February 1, 2015 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.
bring the confirmation receipt that will be sent to you prior to the event.

You could also try amazon.ca. I looked at going that route as well but they didn't have the pm5 at the time and was looking at getting that version. Love the backlight. Their posted pricing seems decent but I wasn't sure if their pricing included shipping and taxes. I didn't go through the full shopping cart process to find out.

Also... Buying through the CIRC gives you the chance to see a bit of the competition too and get you inspired for using your new rower.

Regards,
Marco
