facts about machines

Post by rwj0j0 » January 8th, 2008, 11:06 am

Ok - I own a C2 D (with a pm3 and rowpro) that i just got and i have owned a Liferower 8000 for a year and had a piston rower prior to that (what junk)

anyway - i have a friend that seems to be getting sold on a ROM - if you are not familliar with it check it out - fastexercise . com
(i can't post links)

the claims made by this guy seem really far out. 4 minutes a day and burn ~450 calories - have a tip top VO2 max - etc etc

I ask the fitness experts in this group - is this at all possible?

my gut says no. i would much rather see my friend spend his cash on an E with a 4 and slides... he'd save ~$12,000 over buying a ROM!

Thanks,
Rob

I am suspicious of a company that will not show it's machine in action on it's site. Of course you can send for a video or DVD but I would think if you wanted to really sell it a flash demo would help. I have visited this site over the past few years in hopes one would show up just to satisfy my curiosity but no.

This sounds like a machine that is advertised in the Airline Magazine provided in the seat pouches.

Given that covering 1 mile on foot is about a 100 kCal expenditure, yes even for the guy who runs it in 4 minutes, it seems a bit "out there" to expect 4 times that in the same time from any kind of machine that would not kill you in the process.

I'll google it later, but that's my initial reaction. Edit: www.fastexercise.com Oh yeah, that's exactly the thing I was thinking of.

You can't do a whole lot better than an E (Or D) on Slides, even if one merely got on it and went as hard as they could for 4 minutes a day, it would be far better than nothing, probably putting them in the top 50 percentile pretty quickly, and gaining from quite some time.

Plus, if he could always hire me to guide him, and still save money. B)
