C2 Outdoors

Post by gliderguy » November 18th, 2007, 5:29 pm

My wife just pointed oput that the C2 will fit nicely on our screened porch. I have to admit it's appealing.

Any experience with leaving a C2 outdoors? It won't be subject to (much) direct percipitation but will be subject to 100% humidity and temperatures of 100F (38 c) or slightly more. (I think the temp conversion is about right)

I like the idea of rowing outdoors.

I kept mine in my backyard for a couple of years without any major problems. It was under a very large tree and I kept it covered when it wasn't in use. We do occasionally get temperatures over 100, but the humidity is significantly lower. I eventually moved it into my garage, so I can still look outside, because I row pretty early in the morning and I didn't want to disturb my neighbors; their bedroom windows face my backyard.

My erg has been on the balcony for over a year now.
I live near the coast, and it's humid.

I use the original C2 cover. It's not cheap, but very nicely finished and worth the price.

The erg does ok, I just oil the chain occasionally.

Erging on open air is great!
