I just exchanged my PM4 over to the PM5 module for my C2E ERG.

All i was handed was the unit and the USB stick - nothing else.

Can you tell me if a HRM was included with this PM5 unit?

Call the folks who supplied it.

My new D model with PM5 that I purchased direct from C2 last month did not come with a HRM. It is a seperate purchase. I chose the Garmin and it has worked perfectly.

What model Garmin HRM do you use with the PM5?

Will the HRM supplied with the PM4 be compatible with the PM5?

I have the Garmin chest strap available from C2 for $50 for use with the PM4 and PM5.

I would guess that the one supplied with the PM4 would also work with the PM5 (both ANT technology).

PM5 doesn't come with a strap. In the past the PM4 came with a strap, and the PM3 did not.

I think C2 have taken the strap out to cut costs, and also to give consumers the choice of which model of strap to use. I use a Suunto Dual strap, and that works well, but there are many alternatives that work. I think my Suunto cost only about $50 or so.

I bought the PM5 upgrade to replace the PM4 I have now. It didn't come with a HRM nor did I get one when I purchased my Model D last year.
