What do you do while Erging?

Besides the obvious ones of sweating and such, what do you do while erging?

I clicked other because it is all of the above except watch movies. I find it hard to follow dialog with the erg noise, so I turn on a sports game but mute the TV, put on the music ncie and loud, and row away. During commercials I move my eyes from the TV to the monitor to check on how I am doing, do some mental math, fix my form if it has slipped, etc.

In addition to the TV, however, I also like to watch the numbers on the PM, and do lots of mental calculations.

I watch music DVDs using wireless headphones (lightweight bluetooth type) as I had to have the volume up way high to hear over the noise of the erg.

I've been watching the first season of Battlestar Galactica on DVD, and I have found that headphones are a must! I need to get a nice lightweight set though, as the ones I do have are a bit on the clunky side.

I find that I can get almost 9000 meters in at a nice relaxed pace during an episode (sometimes during a great space battle scene I will do power 20s. . .). The season two discs are standing by, and then I will have to find something to fill the gap while I wait for season three (perhaps I'll watch my Firefly DVDs again)

I bought mine here. Refurbished, in a plastic bag with no instructions, work and look perfect but $130 less than Best Buy!

I put other because I may watch television, listen to music, or just count strokes with my eyes closed and see how close I can get to Paul Smith's 10 meters per stroke over a distance. For music I recently got Sony's noise canceling headphones at Super Target for $49.95. This is about $200 cheaper then Bose, yet they work pretty well. They are relatively light also.

I should be working hard on #6, but end up concentrating on #4.

Starting out to see if my back holds up before trying to purchase one. Just stare out the window. All the cardio in the gym faces TVs except the three rowers. Might try and see if I can get it turned towards the yoga class.

I focus most on the physiological processes involved, coordination, breathing, muscular actions.

Of those listed I focus most on the force curve and numbers on the monitor.

That must be a world-wide feature of gymnasia!
They must think we're loners!
I guess they're right - I bought one for the garage.

Cheers
