Is it possible to produce elctricity with the concept2. How easy is it to add a generator in production... plug it in to the grid.. and turn homes, gyms, and schools into Power?? I personally would turn my average 200watts to 220 if I knew it was going for a greater purpose than self... peaceful warrior

Jeff,

I'm sure the engineers in this forum can give you the specs on this, but I'd say don't try to sign a contract with your local power company for off peak power. As I understand it, 1 watt equals delivering 1 joule of energy per second. So if you erg at a 200 watt pace you're generating only 200 joules of power, not that much more than the kinetic energy than a 180 lb man generates walking 3-5 mph( or slower?).

Remember your PM monitor runs on a battery not on the power you generate while erging.

Also in order to convert the power into a useful means for distribution, you'd probably have to rig up a generator directly to the flywheel and that would in effect cause you to lose some final energy output to the generator to make it run. I think that's the simple physics of it.
