Logcard

Post by shleets » November 21st, 2006, 12:09 pm

Can I leave the logcard in the PM4 indefinitely? Is there any damage possible? I don't want to keep yanking it in and out if not necessary.
Thanks.

I've got mine in the pm3 all the time, never had a problem and never heard anything about any!!

Anyone else?

My logcard has been left in the PM4 for over a month now. It's worked perfectly. I've had no problems at all through multiple data uploads and near daily workouts.

No anticipated problems either way- leave it in or take it out. I've tested the card and connector and they've been fine after 30,000+ insert/remove cycles. C2JonW

Jon, you do need to get a life.

I've found that a pencil eraser can be used to gently clean the contacts on any smartcard (we have chip'n'pin credit/debit cards here now - I occasionally get read failures on that).

Citroen- HA! I do have a life, but somebody has to test these things.Good advice on the eraser to clean the card contacts. By the way, I'm currently testing an alternative suppliers version of this part....18,000 cycles and still going strong.......C2JonW
