We rowed at the Huntington Beach Relay for Life

Post by xeno » June 4th, 2006, 9:04 pm

Hi everyone.

First off, I only rowed 13ks out the over 600Ks rowed during the 24 Relay for life in Huntington Beach.

The exact numbers are to follow this post soon. All I can say is that Val and Nic D'Antoni rowed roughly 250,000 in 24 hours. They were helped by Kate and Patrick, whose last names escape me right now.

There were a total of four rowing machines. Quite a few Huntington Beach high school students joined in the fun by adding their miles on the other two rowing machines.

All night long there were little race challenges during which people could win free dinners and shirts from local businesses.

When I went to bed, dead tired, at 1 AM after watching KING KONG, I really felt bad for the guys. BUT, as I found out later this morning they had a great time staying up and rowing through the night.
