I've seen something regarding him Erging, though I think the reference to him at 2003 WIRC has him a bit old and light.
He was on the Johnny Carson show as a young boy however.

Back in the good old days, before C2 cracked down on the silliness, people used to row Crash-Bs under all sorts of assumed names.
The Men's Open for 2001, for example, featured:
32] Fergusen,Turd Burt Reynolds Rowing Club 6:06.20 90.75 College
38] Einstein,Rembrant Q Man Among Giants 6:07.70 88.96
58] Giant,Andre The Andre's Posse 6:11.80 83.28 College
73] Payback,Private Paris Island Rowing Club 6:13.30 78.81 College
80] Doc,Doc Hill Valley Rowing 6:14.10 76.72 College
81] Piper,Roddy Pojednic Tra Ctr 6:14.70 76.42 College
...
102] Kong,Donkey Donkey College Crew 6:18.10 70.15 College
...
161] Van Halen,Eddie Unaffiliated 6:29.80 52.54 College
Among others....

In all fairness, I should add that it wasn't just the Open men.
Here's a result from the 2001 LW Men at Crash-Bs [Edited]:
56 Hannibal,Hannibal Unaffiliated 6:35.20 77.27 College

Mistook her for Madeline L'Engel, the sci-fi writer (AFAIK from Berkeley CA).
Apologies all round.

Given that her brother's name is Max, I have to wonder if the allusion wasn't intended...
