2006 - 2006 Goals

That time of year again and here 'down-under' I have finished the season and look forward to tomorrow and starting again
It has been a pretty crappy year, but most of that has been down to my attitude so there will be no searching for excuses. During my row today I wanted to set a meaningful goal for the NEW season (which also coincides exactly with my 48th year on the planet, guess this was meant to be my sport if its seasons are the same as mine
)
Simply my goal is to get to the end of the season and look in the mirror and be able to say that I did my best within the confines of opportunity and life's priorities.
What are your goals

I wouldn't mind nailing Halle Berry.
Short of that, 2 million quality meters and a sub-37:00 10K.

Happy Birthday George!
What are your goals
Mine are quite modest: a 3 sec per 500m improvement in pace at all distances!

My goal is to do a row (in a 1x) between bridges, about 3.5K, without a single wobble, with the blades at the correct height at all times, exactly squared in and out of the water, with the catch perfectly timed and with all around good technique. In other words, my goal is to do perfect strokes for 3.5 K. Dream on.

My goals:
-- 7:20 for 2K
-- 19:30 minutes for 5k
-- 7,600 for 30 minutes
-- 40 minutes for 10k
-- 14,500 for an hour
-- 3:05 for the marathon
2.5 million meters for the year -- this is the only serious goal.

My goals are to shave 5 seconds/ 500 metres for each distance (which means it's going to start to hurt
), and to reach 8100 Nonathlon points (which means it's going to start to hurt
).
Cheers,

Happy New Year, everybody!
I'm kinda stoked going into the new year. I just started the last week of February and made my goal of 400,000 meters by the end of the season. I'm also down nearly 40 pounds since the beginning of the calendar year and feel better now than I have for a _long_ time.
My goals for the next year are:
make a million meters by the end of July
do 2.5 million meters this season
lose 100 pounds by the end of the season
Here's looking forward to a great year ahead!

My goal (as should be everyone's in the rowing/erging community) is not to have to read any more posts from Chad.

Hi all, I'm brand new to erging (well, I did a little bit a few years ago at the college gym), and am combining it with other activities (weight training, hiking, cycling) this year in an attempt to get back into shape and convince myself that quitting smoking was the best thing I've done for myself in a long time (ten days cold turkey smoke free and counting!)
I did my first thirty minutes on Monday, fortunately enough for me, on the first day of the new year at the C2 forums! Yeah, it was 6011m, which I guess isn't great, but it's a good start for an out of shape buffoon like me!
My goal for this year isn't the highest, but that way, I should be able to smash it and feel really good!
This year's goal: One million meters. A completed half marathon by the end of August, and a completed marathon by the end of April.
I forgot how much fun erging can be!
Question for anyone, how were your times when you first got on the rowing machine?
Peace,
Mark

I'm with Byron:
Find the "flow" on the water on all boats, and have fun with my crew!
The rest will come by itself!

When I started last June, I tried to hold 2:09 for first 10 then 15 minutes. That took about a week. The first time I tried to do a 2K was after about three weeks and I was at 8:22. I had tried to hold 2:05 and just wasn't able to.
I've read some amazing things from "newbies" about getting on the erg for the first time and nailing some number around 7:40. Don't know how they do/did it.
Anyway, that's where I was when I first got on an erg and seriously tried to do something in June of 05.

My goals for this year as a new erger are
to get my weight down to 176, a 2k under 8 minutes and at least
1 million meters
