Confused on how to read the time on pm5 single distance
Hi all
I just used a concept 2 rower for the first time and did a single distance timed 500m max effort.
The pm5 display is confusing me as it says 1.42/500m but also says 1:37.9 time.
What did I go for the 500m? Please see attachment.

There's no attachment.
To row 500m you need to program the PM5 for 500m, not use "just row".
Main menu -> Select workout -> Single distance -> dial in 500m then press the check mark ✓.

Re: Confused on how to read the time on pm5 single distance
You are probably confused by the data of the screen before you hit the menu button to get the validated data in the history.
The screen at the end of your 500m shows the average and the real time pace of your last stroke. It is very likely that your last stroke was slower (-> 1:42) than your average (->1:37.9).
If you press menu to save the data to the memory, you very likely will see the 1:37.9 as your result. Due to some calculation and rounding it could change to 1:38, you will see it in the PM5 memory.

The split screen single distance display shows five times; the large one (at the top) is the pace of your last stroke, those below are:it says 1.42/500m but also says 1:37.9 time.
Elapsed time
Average pace
Split time
Projected time
The single screen layout has fewer numbers.
08-1940, 179cm, 83kg.

Re: Confused on how to read the time on pm5 single distance
Sorry I can't seem to get the photo attached.
I did a custom workout single distance for 500m
However it reads:
0m. 39 s/m
1:42 /500
1:37.9 AVE/500m
-----------------------------
1:37.9 time
1:42.0 split/500m
1:37 projected finish
From what everyone is saying the time I went was the 1:37.9 time.
Thanks for your help

It's easy to find out. Go to main menu -> memory -> list by date -> select your 500m attempt and look the actual result.Offshoremass625 wrote: ↑August 6th, 2024, 4:22 amSorry I can't seem to get the photo attached.

Ah ok, it will be in the memory, you can sort by date.Offshoremass625 wrote: ↑August 6th, 2024, 8:43 amIt was on a gym rower. Anyway, it's the easiest way to access/get to know you correct result. The last screen of your workout workout pressing "menu" does not show the correct result in every case, as some end calculations are done before saving.
