Hi folks - My lifeboat crew (in the UK) is doing our annual sponsored row in the high street in a few weeks. In previous years we have just kept our eye on the 2 PM5s on the 2 machines we borrow and manually add the distances to get the cumulative amount at regular intervals (and allow for the resets we have at 50km). I have an older model C with PM3 for my personal machine so know little about the technical functionality of the PM5s.
This year it's the 200th anniversary of the RNLI so we've set the challenge distance at 200km.
Is there an easy way of linking the PM5s together, or taking their outputs, to have the cumulative distance of the 2 machines calculated and displayed in real time, perhaps on a laptop?
A quick search of this forum hasn't thrown up the answer yet, so any suggstions gratefully received.

The PM5s can be linked together just from the monitor screen - no wires needed.
Set-up a RACE and the second PM5 can join as a competitor.

I'm not sure that will give you cumulative distance and I'm not sure you can set-up a race for 200Km. It will need some experimentation.

The other way is with two USB-A to USB-B (printer cables) and a laptop. You can then use Ergrace to do the same thing, but you get results recorded on the laptop. https://www.concept2.com/service/software/ergrace

Thanks @Citreon - Yeah, there seem to be plenty of options and apps and fancy stuff for racing, but I'm just after a 'simple' add the 2 distances rowed from the 2 machines together in real time so we know exactly when we've hit our 200km target !

I also don't currently have access to 2 PM5 machines to experiment at the mo.

I've had a look at Ergrace and it may do what we need. It does have a team race setting that will sum the distances, not sure if the 200km may cause an issue if firmware hasn't been updated on the loaned machines we use. If we can start a race with only one team, this may do the job for us.

If any one has any simpler options please do shout . . . . the simpler the better!
