Greetings. Finally bought Concept2 rower for home use and it... made in China? [https://files.catbox.moe/50lmgb.jpg]
From investigation through Web this seems to be official China production from one of Chinese resellers listed on Concept2 official website, but... Should I expect same durability and quality as US made erg or I should exchange it? (as seller has US made too, apparently)
Any advice on the matter?

Yes, you can expect the same durability, performance and quality from the Chinese build. I was at C2 a few weeks ago and was told by my former co-workers in engineering that they were confident that the ergs being built in China were as good as the US machines and are obviously backed by the same exemplary C2 customer service.

I see, it does indeed look not worse than US-made Model D I saw, so I will keep this one. Thank you for answer.

This is news to me.

Concept 2 is manufacturing rowers in China? I did not know that.

Does that mean that they're shutting down the VT production line?

Hmmmm.....interesting! I'm hoping for the best but......Chicom quality control is an oxymoron, same as jumbo shrimp or loving hate.

Weren't we talking recently about the nose-dive of Duracell battery quality since the Chinese took over manufacturing?

You should contact C2 for the official word on this, but as far as I know US production will continue and likely grow. Production in Asia makes sense from a distribution viewpoint as C2 sells product worldwide. My own experience with manufacturing in China is that like anywhere else, there are good suppliers and not so good suppliers, and it takes some work and patience to find a good fit.
