Wrong default date in log

I've been using the Concept2 Log on and off for many years now.

However, I've recently started to try and be a bit more 'serious' and am following the Beginner Pete Plan, and am logging all of my rows.

What I'm noticing is that when logging a row in the morning (I'm in Australia) I have to manually change the date as it's defaulting to the previous day. But if I log a row in the evening, the default date is correct.

The obvious answer is that it's using either US or maybe UST time - but I've set my location correctly in my profile so assumed it would account for this?

The one thing that may be confusing it somehow is that I originally set up the account when living in the UK, then moved to Australia. Has it somehow kept the UK location for the default date?

It's only a minor inconvenience, but any suggestions as to how to correct it?

The log is based on changing at midnight EST/EDT (New York time). That's more than 12hrs adrift of all of Aus (Perth to Sydney).

Don't change your workouts, just live with them being recorded at an odd time of day.

Not heard of that issue from other Oz ergers. Maybe @aussie nick or Lindsay will be back along soon and can throw some light. Or you can click on your profile in the log and it should offer a Contact C2 option - so you could ask them.

Not just the wrong time of day, it's the wrong date

Yeah, pretty sure it's not right. I'll try the Contact C2 option and see if I get a response - thanks

The response you'll get is that the server runs on EST/EDT and that's the way it is.

You're going to have to learn to live with that like the rest of the world does. Just keep your PM5 on your local timezone and ensure your log has a correct timezone setting.

Bear in mind it's worse for the Kiribati island dwellers.

Just be glad you don't have to constantly be shifting back and forth to and from Zulu (aka UTC) time.

The US National Weather Service provides a fair amount of their more detailed or obscure forecast information in Zulu time, so for example, if I want to know when they think the severe thunderstorms are going to hit my location I have to perform multiple conversions, first from Z to US CST or CDT, whatever happens to be applicable, then from 24 hr time to the "normal" time I tend to use in my head.

Yep, that's the exact response that I got.

It's not a big deal to correct the date, but I just assumed it must be a glitch due to me moving countries as, well, you just don't have to do that sort of thing nowadays, do you!

Most servers run on Zulu time to store the data and run on local time to display those stored data.

The C2 servers don't follow that convention.

It's such a shame they can't get with the rest of the world.
