Hi all, I've been rowing since Jan 2023 and been doing around 120k each month. Normally a 2k warmup on resistance 3, a higher intensity 2k on resistance 5 finishing off with a 3k warm down on resistance 3. Times have been in the 7.45 for a 2k.
Recently I have had issues with what feels like my LCL in my left knee. It's not painful as such more feels like a niggle but I'm worried that it might get worse rapidly. Has anyone experienced this or have an insight as to cause before I head to a specialist? Thanks in advance.

There's plenty here:

Item 4 shows causes; 4.2 is most probable. On erg, the slide must stop about 50 cm from the heels, with knee angle open to avoid overcompression. A frontstop on the rail might help, as in boats.
For the recovery action sequence that protects the knees by giving an open knee angle and a strong catch posture see

High drag is useless but risky, since it reduces speed and increases force, like pulling a barge.
Also keep your feet as low as possible, with the straps over the toes.

Re: Advice needed
Much appreciated, I'll have a look through the two links, I also thought about marking where I should be stopping the compression with some tape so I feel the point at which to stop.
