For non-HIIT rowing workouts, my wife and I tend to listen to talks, podcasts or watch a video. Up to now, we've always used a chromebook just to the side of the rower, but I realized that if I just place the PM5 monitor arm in the straight up position, I can make a platform out of wood or metal that wraps around the monitor arm and holds the chromebook screen right in front of us just below the monitor. The keyboard of the chromebook in this position doesn't interfere with the rowing chain for us.
Have you done this? Have you seen any DIY examples in this forum or elsewhere? Appreciate any links you can share.

Re: Making a laptop holder for Concept2 D
IMO, the DIY approach is always the best. However, due to family needs, the time I can spend puttering around in my workshop is practically nil.
I purchased this at www.rowfree.com. Expensive, but it works well. I have no financial interest in this product.

Thanks for sharing Mict450. Unfortunately that product isn't going to hold a laptop securely, and also appears it won't hold a screen perpendicular to the floor so that you're looking right at it. I can get a large 12 in. chromebook screen right below the PM5, for a nice viewing experience and can build something secure pretty quickly with either 2 x 1 in. wood pieces and screws I have around or pieces of aluminum. I'm mostly looking for design inspiration

I have done this. I had previously purchased C2's tablet mount, which comes with a 1" square tube that attaches vertically to the left side of the vertical metal bracket that holds the PM5 arm. It attaches with two bolts. I then simply attached a slim but strong 90-degree bracket (mine was actually a repurposed yard-tool hanger!) to that vertical tube and mounted a strong wooden board to the top of the bracket. Any 1" square steel tube should be fine for the vertical support if you don't have the C2 part.
I use RowPro, and I run it on a 17" gaming laptop. My bracket/platform system supports the laptop well during my rows.

I have been using a hospital table -- on wheels, adjusts up and down and tilts. I bought it for working in bed but has worked VERY well for when I want to watch MotoGP races or regattas when I erg. The flywheel drowns out the not-too-loud laptop so use hard wired ear buds. Bluetooth buds would be the way to go but just haven't. Bought from amazon years ago. Good luck.
