Hi
I have got a Concept 2 rower but looking to purchase an exercise bike. I've done spin classes for years and also used the rower. But with all this now happening i am looking to purchase a bike for my garage to supplement my training. there are just so many different types of bikes and the costs are crazy. would like a mid range bike that is solid but not overly expensive
any help would be appreciated

Do you think on a forum that's owned and managed by Concept2 that you'd get a recommendation for anything other than a Concept2 Bikeerg.

There's also a simple rule that discussion of any competitor's products is banned on this forum.

Well, I'll throw one out there. Obviously there are several different types to choose from and all with numerous features. Most of the road cyclists from northern states that I ride with use a Wahoo Kicker over the winter months for their indoor training. I prefer rollers if I must ride indoors and both of these options require the use of your bicycle. I have used all sorts of stationary bikes in gym settings, from Lifecycle/Peleton on down to the basic Schwinn Airdyne. I actually like the most basic Schwinn:

You will notice that availability is rather sparse at this time, as with most exercise equipment, guns, ammo....
You might get lucky with used.

Why would a commercial company want ads for other products on their website? It's not overkill.

I'd prob get a bikeerg if I didn't have something else already. I'd say it was midrange esp. if you start comparing to Wattbikes etc.
Getting something that outputs watts is prob worthwhile unless you want a strict spin type experience. The bikeerg can link directly to Zwift, unlike the rower.
I have a spin bike which i got used off Ebay a while back after a knee op (before i had the rower). It does the job but is basic, no electronics.
You can of course fit power meter pedals to most spin bikes but this is an expensive route to go. I picked up a garmin speed and cadence sensor instead and this works fine for logging sessions although I generally dont. Getting the bikeerg also means you can log everything to same place.

I spent about a year considering different options before getting the Bikeerg.
Most of the criticism on other websites appeared to be false and/or directed toward issues that don't affect me.

In particular, the Bikeerg is like a time trial bike, which I like. Some people said it was hard to stand on but it's fine.
I do all my starts standing now plus stand a few more times every ride whenever I feel like it and want to, which is often.
The BE freewheels like a road bike, which is fine with me. Thus it is not like a spin bike which I think has a fixed gear.

I like the BE because the pace, distance and other things are already built into the monitor.
You don't have to mess with a bike, and you don't have to mess with extraneous equipment and programs.
Plus the meters board and rankings are great for motivation, competition, and the incentive for personal achievements.
