Heartrate monitor being remembered

Hi, I have two rowing machines with identical specifications, Model E with PM4 monitor. One at my home in Edinburgh the other in my apartment in Cambridge. I row using RowPro and therefore almost always row with a heart monitor.
Now the problem. My machine in Edinburgh remembers the monitor and connects automatically each time I wear it, but in Cambridge I have to go through the connection process every time. It is a Garmin monitor if that makes any difference. The machine in Edinburgh is from 2013, the one in Cambridge 2007.
Any idea why they work differently?

Not really (!) but some obvious things to check - which you probably already have...
Are both PM4s on the same (and latest) firmware release?
Do you use the same Laptop/RowPro versions at both locations?
Are you using the same HR connection method Ant+ or Bluetooth on both machines?
Are you linking the PC/Phone via a cable to both PM4s?
Do you leave the C2 Card in either/both machines?
Do you have the same switch on/start up routines in both locations?
Clearly you've got some difference in the setup somewhere so I guess its just a question of going through everything methodically...

Affirmative to all questions above apart from the C2 card. I will try taking the card to Cambridge and see if that makes the difference.
Thanks for the advice.

Are you using ErgData with one of the rowers, and not the other?
ErgData can help the rower remember the belt.

No I'm not using ergdata, I connect through a Surface Go laptop using Rowpro. I do this to allow me to follow my training programme at both locations.
