Hey Everybody-
I have made a couple of posts, but I forgot to put an intro up so here it goes
My name is Terry (31M) from the Denver/Aurora Area, and I also happen to be totally blind since the age of 10. I have always been in some type of sports, high school it was wrestling and some track and goalball (a sport for the blind). in college, I picked up at home videos (all I could afoard) and did p90x and insanity several times. I earned a student black belt in Universal kempo karate when I lived in Colorado Springs finishing up my B.S. in mechanical engineering.
I moved to Aurora and got into triathlons and did several sprints/olympic distances and 1 1/2 half ironman. After that, I started Crossfit for several years until the next big life change.
I got married! last year, and am now ajusting to that lifestyle, and built a home gym, which includes a concept2 rower I got just a couple of months ago.
Being totally blind, I am excited to hear about ergData and getting voice feedback on a piece of cardio equipment is absolutely fantastic...then I learn about indoor rowing competition and challenges and I'm super excited!!!
I hope to get into indoor rowing more, including crossfit a couple times a week again. I have heard about the Denver indoor chapionships in feb, and also the marathon and half marathon challenges.
Now for requests: if anybody from the Denver area knows or is a coach and could possibly hit me up with some training that I could do at home, or join up with others for some rowing training, that would be fantastic.
Also, if there is anybody else out there from the Denver/Aurora area, let me know, and also especially if there are other blind/VI rowers in colorado, it would be amazing to get to know you and hear your stories.
well if you are still reading this noval. I'm glad to be ehar, and hope that this introduction into the sport of rowing is going to take off and be something meaningful in my life.
god bless:

Concept2 is a sponsor of http://www.usrowing.org/para-rowing-national-team/ and should be able to help you. Indoor rowing coaches have to be qualified and no doubt C2 knows who they are.
For a direct contact with US Rowing: http://www.usrowing.org/contact-us/
"Denver rowing" brings up a list of rowing clubs there. They'll all have coaches who will want you afloat too, with your history.

excellent. thanks for all this information, its exactly what I needed.
getting on the water would be awesome. but with transportation issues, and now being married, it would be a little harder to juggle on water rowing with life right now. but maybe some day
