Please advise regarding best media viewing setup

Hello Fellow Ergers:

I enjoy watching programs while erging.

I have an old television that works fine, with a cable feed, (I DVR shows) and a DVD box (I take movies and TV show series out of the library).

I want to add watching NetFlix and Amazon Prime Video.

I suspect I will "grow into" Hulu, Apple TV, etc.

I'm sure there's a ton of stuff I'd enjoy on YouTube.

I use a wire headset because I never found a wireless one I like and the wire is still most reliable, but open to the fact that technology improved while I was cranking out meters :-)

I'm sure my 20th century analog ways are ready for the brave new world update.

Please advise, please help.

Thank you my technologically enlightened friends!

Cayenne :-)

You intend to use your old TV to view the streams? Which inputs does the TV take?

If it takes HDMI, an easy/cheap solution would be an Apple TV 3 or a Chromecast. But I guess you are talking about a TV which is so old that it only takes analogue inputs?

I consider $25 cheap for headphones, and these suckers are great if you like over the ear hooks and noise cancelling with battery life for days, wire hangs behind neck (against bare skin this becomes a wire pulling problem, but I usually have a tank top or athletic shirt on and that fixes the problem entirely).

I work in a food distribution Warehouse, used to wear these 6 hours straight and listen to tunes while operating a forklift in a -15f freezer. Now I drive a desk..... I've had them for 2 years now, sound is great, I'm no audiophile so take that into account.

TV stuff definitely needs more information.

Thank you Allen, yeah, it's an old, but still works perfectly, color analog -"Non-smart" :-) TV. I wonder if there are HDMI adaptors...? I'm not adverse to upgrading this TV, I've gotten many years of good use out of it.

I use a chromebook so the chromecast solution is attractive. I tried that once on another set and it didn't work well. I probably should revisit.

Thank you Tenshuu:

I will check that link, yes, $25 is a great deal.

Much appreciated gents!
