Full solar eclipse

Big deal in the CONUS. Did you view? Do you live in the totality path or did you travel to get there? Did you see sunspots or the ISS transiting before totality? Equipment or method of observation?

I had my 8' reflector w/ solar filter and binocs reversed on a foto tripod as a focuser for a camera obscura projection on to the lid of a banker box. Didn't rig the scope for fotos but took a couple thru a 30mm widefield lens on the reflector with my ipod and made drawings of sunspot location every 15' from 2 to 4 local time.

I got this one in Crossville, TN, That was with a Nikon D40 with 18-55 zoom lens. Picked the image out of the middle with a photo editor before sticking it on Twitter.

Camera obscura projection: (8x10 glasses resolved the sunspots in the projected image! Wasn't certain until I jiggled the banker box.)

Sorry, no pics, but watched it with students at my elementary school in St. Louis, MO. Luckily, clouds were minimal and the oooos and aaaahs from students were cute. 99.8% coverage, so got an early evening kind of dark. Cicada's chirping, tempature drop of approx 10 degrees, etc. Some students remarked that they would see another eclipse in 2024. Asked them 'what if it's cloudy Fun stuff!

A friend and I also traveled to TN to see it. Absolutely amazing!! Very large temperature drop.
Going back home wasn't so fun (4.5 h to get there - 10 h to get back.)

Doing it with with an 18mm - 55mm lens wasn't easy. I'll probably try to get something bigger for 8th April 2024 in Dallas, TX.
