More C2 utility problems

The C2 utility has stopped working fully for me. It will upload my data and show it in the workout table, but when I tick the box to select the new workouts prior to uploading, it fails to select any of them. So I have had to resort to manual uploads. A strange thing is that the spreadsheet uploads as normal and shows new and old workouts. I have downloaded a clean version of the software but the problem remains.

I can think of several recent changes which may possibly be involved.

1. There was a major windows security update which preceded the problem. This seems to have led to a problem with an HP file, accelerometerSt,exe. I followed HP's procedure for curing this but that produced no change. Since it appears not to affect anything I do on the computer, I have not gone through the procedure again so far.

2. I updated the clock on my PM4 when I noticed it was two hours out of sync. This could be because I adjusted the solstice hour the wrong way a while back. As far as I can see from the spreadsheet data, this has not caused any anomalous time overlaps.

3. I made a global delete from the logcard of all workouts prior to some date, (I forget what date), to create more free space on the logcard as it was getting clogged with small warm up workout metres. I backed up the excel file before doing that.

Are any of these likely to be the source of the difficulty? If not, has anyone any ideas for a resolution?

I will be grateful for any suggestions.

I see the same behavior with the OSX version.

My workaround when I can't select the card-loaded workouts for upload is to cancel, then go right back to reloading the card and the second time they appear I'm able to select for upload to my logbook.

If you're running 7.06.15 then use the "Feedback" link on the home screen for the utility to report your errors.

If you're not using 7.06.15 then the time to upgrade is NOW.

I sometimes have the same issue but as stated above exiting and restarting seems to fix it... Im not sure if its not RowPro still "hanging" onto the port even though it has been disconnected

Use the feedback link or write to rowing@concept2.com or if you're convinced it's RowPro write to assist@digitalrowing.com

The problem is now resolved. I used the feedback link to contact C2 and they pointed to the login/logout option in the workout upload page which leads to an opportunity to restate login name and password details. Oddly, the problem has occurred once more since the resolution. I had become convinced that it was the recent major security update in Windows 10 that caused it. That doesn't seem to be the reason now.

I had discovered the solution independently before their reply but almost by accident. I had tried installing the earlier version of the utility. This has a more obvious 'settings' option which leads to the chance to change/restate your details. I assumed there must be a similar option in the latest version and eventually found it as above. I think that this option would be more obvious to the 'blinkered' user like myself if it were still labelled 'settings'. It seems to me that when uploading workout data, one is not looking to login/logout. That I usually do with the X shutdown at the top right of all open windows.

My thanks to C2 and everyone else who responded to my problem

I would but the latest version 'craps out' on W764 for me. Least the previous version works consistently.

Simple answer, stop using ancient, unsupported, insecure versions of Microsoft's operating system.

Huh? Blame the entire OS for a small utility glitch?

Besides Windows 7 isn't End of Extended Support until Jan 14, 2020

And 10's many huge upgrades suggest to me it isn't Enterprise ready yet either...
