iPhone battery won't last for full marathon

I'm planning a full marathon in May and would like to use the ErgData app, but my iPhone 5s battery likely will not make my 3.5 hour attempt (I know that's slow, but that's for another forum
). Secondly, if I just go with my PM3, how can I get verifiable data to my C2 log?
Any suggestions welcome!

1. Row faster
2. Buy a new phone

If the phone is connected to the PM3/PM4/PM5 with a cable there's no way to connect a charger.
So a new phone isn't the only option for a new item. Get a PM5 and connect phone to PM5 with BlueTooth.

I have rowed many marathons with that phone. You either have to many apps running or your battery is weak. I have tested it several times I get 5.5 hours run time on machine. Lower your back ground light If there is a will there is a way

Its the reason I run an old school phone, the battery lasts a whole week. Also have had the thing now for like 7 years and it still works, you have probably had 3 or 4 iPhones by now.
Still works pretty well as intended, you know for voice calls and texts like they were designed for.
Of course I have about 5 PC's and 3 laptops but lets not go there !

If you set your PM3 to the exact distance (single distance, no intervals or rests), 42195m in your case, then when you finish there will be a verification code on the monitor that you can enter to verify the row. To get to the code manually: "More Options" -> "Memory" -> find the workout and view it, then hit the 4th button down (the one with no icon to the side)
twice and the code comes up at the top right. You can enter that manually in the C2 log. Or if you use the logcard, it will enter as verified as well.

Hi Shoremedic, this might be too late, in which case well done, if not is there a USB flash drive socket on the monitor? That is what I used and then you can store all the info and upload easily the C2 program

All great suggestions above. You could switch your phone to lower-power mode. And switch off Bluetooth and Wifi too - that'll hopefully extend your battery life long enough.

My IPhone 6's battery is shot so I have it plugged in for the longer workouts, it's across the room from me but i have already tested it a few times with some shorter workouts to make sure there aren't any disconnect issues, etc.

I've got a 5s too and its battery life span has gone down the drain after a couple of recent updates. Don't update your phones if you have older models.
