He was a well known person at this Forum. I saw Anne Bourlioux posting the link above on Facebook and just wanted to share it here as well. Amazing person.

Row in peace, Bob!
One of the people here who posted and I listened.
Led a great life.
His experience and above on the scene will be missed.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
And the heart must pause to breathe,
And love itself have rest.

Very sad news. Bob was a man who lived his life to the full.

I was hoping to meet him at CRASH-B but I wasn't fast enough. I hope his posts are archived somewhere - they are inspiring.

Very sorry to hear that. :(
Bob was very active here for a long time, and in rowing for far longer.
He often had good input from his long experience with rowing, and other knowledge.
He had quite a list of erging records.
He will definitely be missed.

Bob was a very interesting and insightful contributor to this forum. I genuinely liked and appreciated his comments and will miss his presence.

Thank you for sharing the article about him -- it would seem he was even more interesting in person! An amazing man who has likely been an inspiration for many!

RIP Bob

He was the first person to welcome me to this forum. We shared a couple of friendly PMs as fellow alumni of UC Berkeley and now I learn that he was teaching at Cal State Fullerton when I was there during grad school...wish I could have met him back then, but glad I at least got to meet him here. Great guy.
