Seat Pad

Post by Mike10546 » July 17th, 2013, 1:05 pm

Hello Everyone, I am the proud new owner of a Model E and hope to soon join in to your online community as soon as I get acclimated to using my new rower.

I have been reading that seat comfort can become an issue when engaging in longer rowing sessions and I've seen some suggest using towels or other cushioning to soften things up a bit. Has anyone purchased the Concept2 seat pad? It is very inexpensive and I am inclined to purchase it, but wanted to hear from others as to whether this device truly makes the longer rows more comfortable.

Thanks for your advice in advance and I have been very impressed with the excellent knowledge that is readily shared here without the "noise" that is is unfortunately so prevelant in so many other forums.

I have used the C2 pads (one on a D and another on a dynamic) for several years and found them to be very helpful. Using a pad was not enough when I did marathons (over 3 hours), but tolerable for half marathons (a bit over 90 minutes). After 80 minutes I prefer to have extra padding - like 2 small folded towels with a gap between for air circulation.
