Noise

Post by 24601 » March 19th, 2006, 11:55 pm

I'm considering purchasing a Model D, but I'm curious how much noise it would make. I live in a third floor apartment in a converted house, and I'm wondering whether the noise would be audible to the people living below me.

Thanks!

In the flat, the erg seems louder than in the gym.
I don't know if my neighbours from below hear the erg, but they havn't complained (yet), and I use to row late at night.
I put an isolation mat below the erg to avoid the vibrations.

Happy rowing with your new erg!

I purchased my new model D in February. It's located upstairs in my house and my wife and kids say they can only hear me when I'm trying to set a new personal best, and then most of the racket is coming from my huffing and groaning and not the erg. I know most apartments are build with more insullation between the floors than houses so you should be fine. It's the best piece of exercise equipment I own. I've dropped a pound a week since I bought it. :D
