Lately i've been dealing with pain in couple of my fingers. Especially in the morning am I quite stiff and sore. Has anyone experienced the same? Can it be related to my handle grip?
I have, sometimes, not a few fingers, but more the whole hand. The hands work pretty hard in rowing, certainly when you push the pace. Don,t think grip has much to do with it.
Never gave me a real injury, but ofcourse it could.

Yes. There were days I would wake up with my fingers stuck in place - horrible pain.

Hasn't happened since college when I would row sweep (now I scull), so I think it does actually have to do with your grip. Even though my fingers don't lock like they used to, I still get pain in the finger joints on both hands.

It's just a part of rowing, I think. Fairly unavoidable.

Yes a but of pain and stiffness now and again. Basically your fingers are just part of the chain transferring that power to the handle. Also suffer from a bit of elbow pain as well, comes and goes probably when I slacken off in my technique I get a painful reminder. Of course when you get older, pretty much everything hurts !!!

Speaking of pain and recovery, our Javelin Olympic games hopeful said on the TV the other day that he is throwing better than ever but his recovery time has slowed down....he is only 34 years of age I had to laugh, try being 50.
