Pardon the sensitive topic. Question on ED and rowing

Post by jedijeff » April 20th, 2016, 5:25 pm

This is my first visit to the Forum. I have never rowed before and purchased a Model D in February in order to improve my health. I am not an expert like you guys and only have done 90,000 meters so far. But I try to row at least 20 minutes every other day for my health. I am 49 years old.

The sensitive topic is I was curious if there was any risk of Erectile Dysfunction with a rowing seat? I think it only really happens on certain types of bicycle seats? Anyway I sometimes notice my buttocks are a bit numb even after a 20 min row. I don't have any signs of ED, just curious if this sport puts me at risk. I bought a seat pad from this store, but frankly I do not find it that comfortable.

Perhaps I'm sharing too much info but I'm going to share anyway. I can't exactly answer your question but about one year ago I started exhibiting symptoms of ED and it really bummed me out. That lead to me getting checked out by doctors. I was overweight and had high blood pressure so they said either start exercising or go on medication. Well, I chose the former and after rowing for almost 6 months I just completed my first 1,000,000 meters as of today. I've now dropped 60 lbs, got my BP to normal, and happy to say everything is functioning well again, so not only did it not cause the problem to worsen it's gotten much, much better.

Your backside will adjust, its the same as a bicycle seat it kills you to start off with and your muscles need to adapt.

Always wear pants, those seat rollers will guarantee you ED if you run over it.
