Citreon = Troll

MVB = Troll

Others = troll (s?)

This is the saddest non- productive (sic), non-informative, non- anything (sic) thread in the granfer (sic) scheme of training provisions that anyone could ever encounter.

WHY oh why do (sic) C2 allow such ramblings that detract from the very essence of C2's training programmes (British?)?

Why do C2 (sic) allow such BS to detract from their reputed advancements of erging?

BAN THIS THREAD
Some of us troll because it is fun. It is especially rewarding when it brings out diatribes like the one above. Keep flippin' your lid Flipper21. Those are good for a charge, particularly when they are unedited.

Some find the particular troll thread to which he refers entertaining as well. As a new erger, I've actually found myself remembering to erg because I first wanted to find out what craziness was happening on the now-704 page thread. Once I get completely bored of the thread, I can always ignore it.

I'm a troll, fol de rol,

I'll eat you up for supper.

I got bored very early on with the messages from the main contributor and was relieved when the ignore feature was re-installed. After that, all I have seen are the responses with just occasional quotes from the originator. I must admit that lately the responses have been getting rather boring as well. I haven't decided whether the recent off-topic rulings are good or bad. But I suppose that it does force us to exercise a little ingenuity.

Bob,

Does this really need it's own thread? Some of us avoid THAT THREAD purposely.

I opened this thread because I normally find your posts insightful, and am disappointed.

Might we keep these personal and unnecessary posts contained?

Thanks,

Emily

Does this "its" really need an apostrophe? Some of us avoid THAT MARK unless it's necessary.

I read your comment because I expected to find something grammatical, and I am disappointed.

Might we learn to write proper English instead of lecturing Bob?

Thanks,

Emily,

I am sorry that my byline misled you. I usually try to be constructive, but I must admit that I do a lot of trolling. I have what some might consider to be a warped sense of humor and a strong penchant for sarcasm as well. Perhaps I should have called the sarcasm an addiction (among many others). When I read Fipper21's message bashing Dougie and Mike, I just couldn't resist.

Also, re the other thread and with apologies to composer Ed Haley:

While trolling through the list one day, in the merry, merry month of May,
I was taken by surprise by a slew of blatant lies, in the merry , merry month of May.

Bob S., the incorrigible one.

Aw, come on, stupefaction. She was right - I had it coming - and - hey - I am supposed to be the one who is picky and complaining about minor slips and typos.

Isn't it a characteristic of trolls that they crave being bashed? Psychologically, do they crave attention in all forms particularly when it involves disagreement?
Is it possible for a troll to have a "friend" on facebook or, are they holding out until such time that there is a "foes" designation.
Social Network geeks take note... an untapped population! :mrgreen:

Ultimately is there any meaning to Trolling outside of cyberspace?
eg: ranger remains a 7:02 erg until he shows up again in person and pulls a better (or worse) piece :arrow: :idea: :|

No biggie, Bob. I just find the whole saga boring.

I've been attempting the ranger anti-troll on that thread:
I post things critical of Ranger and see if if he ignores it.
I seem to have succeeded for a long time now.
He often uses his technique of trying to hide an unpleasant comment in a long string of his own posts.

Now that I gave away my game he may not--but given that he always looks really ridiculous when he does respond he will probably ignore my posts.

AS a post elsewhere may soon be banished to off-topia... Let me continue an idea.

There is a contingent of people who have the urge to post for posting's sake... IOW: NOT to share true features of ergometer training but to merely engage in repartee... I know I am guilty of this from time to time. :oops:

To carry this to a whole different level:
Trolls takes this repartee to the extreme... they crave reaction. And, the easiest way to get a reaction is to say things that are not true.

Some enjoy this as real training is fairly boring after all.

Don't think so?
Then cruise the blogs of the stalwart few who do post their workouts... There are relatively few hits compared to a troll infested thread... :idea: :idea: :idea:

The votes are in folks... Real training loses, hands (handle) down. :mrgreen:
