Around the World Row!
Great rowin', hosers.
I have managed to set the Eh!Team website so most browsers will interpret a .kml file to load automatically into google earth. Although on the front end this will look like a very minor change, on the back end it gives me a lot of flexibility. I should be able to program it so your own rows will stand out in the google earth file now.
All of this is of course dependent on my "spare" time but I should be able to keep up with it.
We are well on our way across the Atlantic and will then start rowing the coast of the America's. This is an extremely ambitious undertaking. It will be over 60,000,000 meters to row the America's alone.
If you look closely in the picture you can see our big Eh!Team trireme moving across the North Atlantic.
Keep on rowin', eh.

I too am sad to see Brigitte move on. You were a great inspiration to this team and will be an asset wherever you go. Viel Glück!
Its over to you Troy. I managed to improve my CTC effort but there's nothing left in the tank for any more. I went through 2K in about 6.48 which is more than 7 seconds off my 2K PB. Very happy but won't be doing it again...probably.
May I too extend a "Welcome aboard" to our new members. May we all speed around the coastlines.
Cheers
Dave

Nothing like friendly competition to move the boat ahead.
I'll be taking (hopefuly) a couple of more shots before month's end. If I'm feeling good Trevor's current time may be within reach .
Cheers,

May I introduce Fiona Graham (Mrs Tinpusher) to the Eh! Team. She was a reluctant convert to the erg but has decided to give it a go. She had her first go at the CTC today. I'll make sure she has her profile set up so her metres are added to our coastal row.

Hi from Calgary
Just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone. I've been rowing for 5 years now (4 years with the University of New Mexico virtual team). Started on a Model B and now have a Model D. I row everyday and try to do 15K+ each day. I'm a very slow rower and usually average about 2:16 or so no matter what the distance. I make it up by rowing for 60 to 70 minutes. I'm just coming off of hernia surgery, so am rowing half-time right now. Hope to pick it up again soon.
I like to travel, so that usually makes a big hole in my meters output. Marjorie and I cruise a lot, and fortunately most of the cruise ships have Concept 2 or Schwinn rowers aboard. It's an amazing feeling to crank on a rower and feel a 150,000 ton ship surge ahead!
What do I need to do to contribute to the "around the world" journey?

JC ... Rowing for Life!
Welcome all the newcomers to the Eh!Team.
Your can see your meters at:
the Eh!Team coastal row site
http://216.119.121.169/c2coastal/
Click on the link to download the google earth file once you get there.
The site is still under development, very much so. I am looking for some good pics, some links and I will further develop the individuality of it so you can see your contribution to the team.
I am down in Calgary/Banff for holidays this time. I blew my back out on the erg at the Y, so I may have to cut down on my meters a bit and stay out of the moguls.
Keep on rowin', eh.

Now that Kirk has threatened to exceed my time I may have to stop working so many hours at my paying job and get back on the erg . The last three weeks have been a disaster for me; what with the flu and too many emergencies/prolonged procedures . I was hoping to average 200 k per month until May, that plan is in complete disarray.

Threatened? Au contraire! It's more like I'm setting myself a lofty goal!Trevor wrote:Now that Kirk has threatened to exceed my time I may have to stop working so many hours at my paying job and get back on the erg .

They're on the list!Trevor wrote:Threatened? Au contraire! It's more like I'm setting myself a lofty goal
Maybe we should set a really lofty goal and try to beat Troy and Dave. Would they let us row as a double? Probably the only way I could even come close
