Yes, the QS wrench should be routinely checking his bikes for cracked cranks and bent pedal spindles! I can't remember many who made up that ground so close to the line. And three times now. Must be a BIG big ring in the front as he isn't close to spinning out the top gearing! Speakng of which, Uran made the most of his "2spd" acquired in the Porte crash.

Are you getting coverage of the entire stage, Jack?
Two channels with flag to finish coverage for me. Very sweet if you are fond of chateaux.

Getting full coverage from NBC Sports Gold subscription app, Gary. Wife up at 4:50 EDST this mornng to see em roll out of Pau. She is hardcore and very fond of chateaus, cathedrals, castles, shrines, ruins, cows, sheep, bucket trucks, front end loaders, animated tableaus, streakers, caravans, Basque separatists, smenkies and schlugas, devils and whatall! Can be recorded or available on demand after finish.

I find NBCSportsNetwork at a civilized hour more to my liking despite a growing suspicion that those ancient jades, Liggett and Sherwen, have little to offer beyond general purpose boilerplate. Also a bit disturbed by Bobke Roll's strange obsession with rider safety which appears to involve wrapping every tree in foam rubber and also the curiously contrarian ideas on effective team tactics of Jens Voight.

Heck of a pitch on that airport runway! . . . and Landa crosses before the boss. Froome actually traversed indicating he was totally shot. Bardet didn't look like he turned a hair; not even breathing hard. Hardman effort by Martin! Fat lady must wait until final TT as Aru doesn't yet have much besides the shirt. Kwiatkowski cross country mistake in front of Froome reminiscent of G's in an earlier stage.

Only reviving this thread about nations "separated by a common language" after listening to Matt Keenan and Robbie McEwen Tour commentary on NBC SportsGold. Despite the Aussie pronunciation, I'm not forced to concentrate to "pick out" the words. Not certain why. Maybe cause the Aussies sound the consonants?
Jack does that mean you like Matt and Robbie? (I know that Robbie is a cycling hero) We get start to finish plus daily highlights on free to air channel with them plus others as well so pretty good but for the time zone - we are 8 hours ahead. Kittel is a beast!

The French aren't alone when it comes to using the "discretionary" powers of rules committees and juries to win sporting contests. :| The "black musette" feed zone or pop stop or whatever came pretty late; maybe some missed it or chose to give it a miss and got a bit dry. There was mention of the time penalties on an online bookmaking site yesterday evenng but guess I missed the preferential treatment angle. I see now that the UCI commissar's panel has overturned the time penalties on Bennett and Uran. Jonathan Vaughters admits that Uran took a bottle from a Cannondale employee.

Lindsay, McEwen was pure delight. Very skillful at privateer sprinting! Not a trained radio voice but not a bloody mushmouth either.

Froome hangs on for fourth Tour barring mishaps tomorrow. Crazy TT ride for Bardet. Sunweb with a very decent tour result--4 stages and two shirts. Will Matthews make the effort on the Champs or sit in and safeguard his points jersey?

he is just too good it seems - that was an amazing climb in the middle of the TT - I wanna go to Marseilles now.
Matthews will take it carefully I guess - he is rooming with Barguil as well.

Strange tour overall, very little fights around the overall, Froome not one victory, very uncommon.

Last stage to Norway again? Maybe Groenewegen.
