"Charity event" - so that's what they call it nowadays???
I have long had this lingering suspicion that the Indoor Rowing Community had some secrets that they were keeping from me. I guess though that the clothing is in fact very useful for rowing in hot weather. I would only have nightmares about being strangled by a feather boa while erging B)
Ah, Carole Mac ... having her in my age group makes me look slow like a snail ...

Happy nylon erging everyone!

Bri, what have you done to the RTW site again?
Long time no see Trevor, welcome back!
Jim - fast erg or not it was a great row, well done!
Well I managed to get myself back into Boat 1 but somehow I don't think it will last! Does Brian just wait until the last minute before posting his time to let the rest of us have some fun?
Cheers

Wow, that picture of Carole and the gals really gets around!! My sister sent that one to me last winter!

Brigitte, I have noticed that the women in the 40-something age bracket seem even faster than the ones in the 30-39!! I am turning 40 next season, so I guess I better try to get speedier by then!

Great job on your latest 30:00 attempt, by the way! I am trying to psyche myself up for one more attempt near the end of the month.

It wasn't me! It wasn't me! (... at least I think so ...) unless my evil mutant powers have grown so much that I can make the site crash with my thoughts alone

Shannon, thanks for the kudos! Yes, the girls in the 40-something top group have awe inspiring times! There is nothing more dangerous than a woman in her forties! B) I bet you can't wait to join us girls in the upper league! How about a nice little online row again some time?

Hi Guys - I'm traveling in the UK right now on business but did manage to find an erg. Put my C2CTC score up there - though not my best. Started off a bit optimistic and was on course for a PB until I hit the wall at 8 min left. If I have a chance, I'll give it another go next week. Cheers Mates.

With Troy's excellent effort I am now in Boat three. I suspect I will stay there as I may not be able to get in another 30 minute row this month.
Between emergencies at work and having the usual short outside work season I have been on the rower a grand total of six times so far this month. I suspect that is probably not part of any rational training regime to better my times.

Keep up the good work, at least we have another boat collecting points

Hey, sorry gang.
I have been out in the bush for 8 days with no internet or erg access. I was at my mom's place, where I grew up, so it was fun.

Anyhow, I see Brigitte has knocked out the rtwr site. I will fix it when I get home. (Probably later on tonite or early tomorrow. I am in the Toronto airport now and I won't be back to Yellowknife until late this evening).

Keep on rowin', eh.

When was the rtwr site, last working?
This will help me restore it.

I'm not sure but Dave posted on July 18 (above) that it wasn't working so I suspect sometime around then.

Yo, gang, we are smokin'.

We are 23 million meters and over 41% of the way around the world.

I have managed to restore the site. I will put in some better error checking so you will not see those cryptic messages about missing .kml files and "unable to parse".

But first it is off to bed, then onto the erg, and then .....

Keep on rowin', eh.

Well it's been a while. Many PB's, Brigitte rowing through her 1st million, congratulationns to all.

My shift at work was changed and I didn't fit erging into my schedule. I couldn't get used to getting up at 5:00 am after being on steady midnights for years.

Rowed the CTC but for a first row in 3 weeks and it was all I could do to finish it. It filled boat III anyway. :) I may try again.

Did a 2000m to get some confidence back, haven't done one since last October. Pushed myself but I knew it would hurt for a lot less than 30 minutes. I have to keep Dave on is toes (or on his butt).

Cheers eh,

Land Ho!

My calculations put us landing on the west coast of Australia at Cape Cuvier in the next few days.

It looks spectacular with high cliffs and excellent fishing. We are going to have to stop for some good Aussie beer.
Image

It has been a treacherous row across the Indian Ocean with pirates sabotaging our google earth file and kidnapping our own speedy Brian Turner just when we need him most. (In the 30 minute challenge, his speciality)

I hope all is well with everyone.

Keep on rowin', eh.

Well, I managed to get a few more meters (41) into my 30' challenge. And I got to see Boat 2 move up 1 notch, which was satisfying.
I am now almost ready for my Australian beer (want to do one set of 22 min to finish out my rowing for the week).

Congratulations, Dan!

Nice to see you sitting back and relaxing after a great row. Please tell me that is NOT a tub of Foster's that you are bathing in.

We are less than 10, from our turn at the West Coast of Australia. It will be a long slog across the Australian outback from there, but we can do it.

Keep on rowin', eh.
