Thanks for bringing this business to light, Jon. It has been a real puzzle to me all this time. The way that Chad went along with it had me convinced that he was the main one behind it.

I suggest that both Jon Goodall and Bob S go back a look through all the original posts with regards to the rouge 2000m piece I ranked using my name.
I stated after less than 2 days of logging the 2000m that I was not responsible for pulling that score, I also explained how I obtained all the data to post the score.

Why people still insist that I am someone other than myself I don’t know. You guys

Interesting John Rupp, aka SitWronge, would make an accusation of someone posting under an anonymous alias.

I have exchanged PM's with Chad, as well as pointing out that there could have been just a touch more tact applied to the initial post he made, which should be a good indication that I am not Chad, as I never lack tact.

I will buy Chad a beer at WIRC 2007 if the opportunity to do so presents itself, the odds on that appear to be better than even.

I hadn't realized that is was less than two days. I guess that there were so many messages in between that it seemed like a lot more than two days.

P.S. If you did the ranking, weren't the five guys that did the piece in on all of it? The fellow that finally admitted it claimed that neither he nor his partners know you. I had the impression from his message that they assigned it to your name as a gag.

So who are you? Pertinent details would dispel the speculation.

I received an email, this email contained a number of files including a screen shot of a 2000m score with its 500 splits, it also had a short message that went something like-

To help you in your cause to prove that an IND_V code can be obtained by other means rather than a straight row I have enclosed the following 2000m score and IND_V code which was obtained from doing a team relay. Your name has been put on the log card as a user. Feel free to use this information in anyway to help you get your point across.

The above is not verbatim of the email, but it was along those lines.

Just to confirm, putting Chad's name on the log card WAS a last minute joke at the time.

After the row was done and Chad's name put on the log card, I did say that if it was to be ranked as Chad Williams that the 3 digit code from Denah would be needed also as it was a top class time. I could have ranked the time myself as I had a 3 digit code for that season.... made no difference to me who ranked it.

To go talking about the 2k like that on the forum BEFORE getting the 3 digit code was so unprofessional. How tough is it to just wait a couple days, get the code from Denah, rank the time, and THEN talk about it?

I was amazed that C2 actually gave out the code given the way Chad went posting about it all in those 2 days.

So, are you saying that me talking about and also posting a fake time is far worse than rowing it and passing the information on to a third party?

I had discovered another way of getting an IND_V code for a 2000m score, it just happened that you, by your own admission had already done one.

C2 where just following procedures, they had no reason to doubt it, they never doubted Dwayne’s 2000m times, well, that is not true, they must have done, as this is why the whole USIRT selection programme has be changed.

What you did Jon was help move the sport forward, if any crime has been committed you are just as guilty as me, if not more so.

Sorry to disappoint you row4life, but due to mitigating circumstances and a key witness willing to testify at the last minute the whole nasty business is now over (well nearly).

So go back to your dark room and go and tell you American Idol Mr Adams that it is still game on for WiCRC 2007, if he has the balls to show up (which I doubt).

Damn, this is simply the best dramatic entertainment going! The plot twists couldn't have been scripted any better. The mysterious 2k score. Chad's last minute reprieve from prison. The renewed challege. Will Dwayne row, or won't he? Is Chad really Chad? Or is he John Rupp?

I'm hooked.

Chad,

Interesting! Thanks for clearing that up.
