The screamadelica album arrived at the house today, quality..
Oh my, I can see the origins of oasis and the gorillaz, at times I thought I was listening to the gorillaz, "higher than the sun"
Favourite track, "slip inside this house"
Undeniably the start of the new 90s decade, I can hear influences from Jethro tull, even the beatles, deliciously trippy. Bass riffs stunning.
I've no idea how this album got past me,although I do recognise loaded.
"Come together" hit me like a rush, chilling when I remember the era, but excellent, and added to my current playlist, bookmark whatever lol.
Do I want to see them live, you're damn right

Re: Dangerscouse
this is the product of the master technician Andrew Weatherall (RIP). His influence is massive, and no better evidenced than by hearing the original version of Loaded and the version we all know.Holly62 wrote: βJuly 6th, 2022, 8:06 amThe screamadelica album arrived at the house today, quality..

Andrew Weatherall has got tons and tons of remixes, plus albums (Sabres of Paradise, Rotters Golf Club to name just two), and there's an excellent triple album recently released on Heavenly Records of his remixes. Well worth a listen / purchase

I could probably beat you for insane music collection. I have everything from ABBA, Simply Red (first two albums are ace) to Ministry (industrial metal), Idles (modern punk band) Metallica, neo-classical music to South African Gospel music, and everything in-between.

Yes, definitely, suddenly I don't feel quite so insane .
I'm listening to an album a day, it's the ocd thing, too bloody hot to row, my concept 2 is at the top of the house, and with old slate roofs, it's like sitting in an oven, I can't even get it into the garden, which is like a tropical rain forest at the moment.
How are you doing DS...

Re: Dangerscouse
I know that feeling. My rower is in a loft conversion, so I have to row early morning. Moving it up and down three sets of steps isn't an option.Holly62 wrote: βJuly 12th, 2022, 3:36 amYes, definitely, suddenly I don't feel quite so insane .

I'm on holiday, so no rowing for a few more days. I'm doing well and hoping that the break will be beneficial.
I'm currently really enjoying listening to Nasser 'The Outcome' that sounds like a LCD Soundsystem and Soulwax album. Electronic with guitars.

Re: Dangerscouse
I'm off until Monday too, second week of my holiday. Its nice to be off on holiday rather than sick leave, although there's very little difference.
I'm listening to the stranglers, and waiting for siouxsie and the banshees, spellbound. Bit of matt Berry acid jazz, and Bowie spiders from Mars to come through the letter box.
Been reaquainting myself with Jean Michelle jare, although I think it sounded better on vinyl, my dad had a decent technics turntable.
There were always instruments laying about the house when I was a child, although I was pretty rubbish at playing them, it was nice to 'pretend' to play a bass guitar.
Feet up watching the mountains and enjoying the break.
I'll be transfering my vinyl to my walkman, when I can work out how to do it, decently.
The beatles back in the ussr one of the first singles I ever bought. Little Red carry turntable, was my introduction to music, and a cassette player, 1972.

Re: Dangerscouse
It's one of my biggest regrets not properly learning to play musical instruments. I always like the idea of playing piano and guitar

Grin, at 48 you've got plenty of time to learn if you want.Dangerscouse wrote: βJuly 14th, 2022, 8:13 amIt's one of my biggest regrets not properly learning to play musical instruments. I always like the idea of playing piano and guitar
Piano or Guitar lessons programs give immediate feedback from monitoring the output from a midi cord or USB cable and work really well. Example, google "rocksmith". So are video lessons if you prefer that, example https://www.youtube.com/c/justinguitar. GREAT keyboards and guitars are readily available, especially used guitars and keyboards/stage pianos. The focus you brought to erging says you can learn whatever you want.
That said, there are many things I regret not learning, but not enough regret to actually learn them. Think this is true for everyone.

Re: Dangerscouse
Yeah, fair comment. I bought a keyboard about a year ago, and I have used it twice. I assume being an absolute beginner becomes harder to accept the older we get.
