I use an Intel Macbook Pro and run "Parallels for Mac" with WindowsXP for any other software that isn't compatible. Best of both worlds =)

Tyn, if you're having problems with viruses then get linux.

I had a mac for 7 years and won't ever get one of those crap computers again.

It had lots of problems when I got it. I was on the phone with apple for 5 hours a day for the first several weeks, mostly on speakerphone while waiting for them. They kept saying to reboot it and things like that. I asked what about the rumors that it has a faulty chip? No, they said it was fine.

After 6 months of problems, they admitted there were 2 bad chips that were manufactored into the computer, which it took all of 2 minutes to fix. Why the blazes didn't they do that at the start, or at least take the faulty computer back for exchange but NO! They are lacking in integrity and don't stand by their products, i.e. they know their products are not worth anything and that's why they won't even stand by them for exchange.

Plus it was expensive, so I kept it for 7 years just to try and get my money for it, a lost cause. Another thing is you can't get any good programs for the mac, and every program you do try to get is expensive.

I am VERY HAPPY with microsoft windows being MUCH BETTER than the crap apple macs, and I don't like MS at all, so the macs are far below that.

It is no wonder that MS is so far ahead of mac in sales and technology.

If you don't like MS then perhaps try linux on your next computer.

Cheers.

John,

I ubderstand your angry with Apple, now!
I'm very pleased with my mac and the software that comes with it, like Imovie, Itunes, etc. I use the mac version of MS office and that works great.
tried linux in the past, one of the first versions, but I wasn't smart enough, read to stupid, to make work!

Now, see, that makes good sense, because how much could possibly have changed in the computing industry over the past 7 years? Your decision-making data is practically brand new.

PC's are much faster now, there are many more good quality programs available for them, and they cost only a fraction of what they did 10 years ago.

I've had my current PC for 3 years, and could afford to get five of them for one not quite as good and limited functioning, questionable quality macintosh.

There is a reason that mac's are losing their limited market share.

PC's are much better.

I think it's great that you've found your platform—let your PC flag fly. But you might want to chill on the misinfo.

Last month two of the big-dog market research firms, INC & Gartner, reported a 30+% US computer market share increase for Apple. That figure put Apple in fourth place for market share, and ahead of all other computer makers for growth (two of the top three, Dell and Gateway, lost market share). Damn those pesky facts.

Oy. I can't tell if you're really that thick, or if it's just an annoying put-on. Either way, you're tops in your market.

The V4.04 LogCard Utility, PM3 V97 (or PM4 V14) firmware and Mac OS 10.3 are compatible. The new LogCard util (well the windoze version, I don't have a Mac) includes an automatic firmware updater.
Sort of. There is a Catch-22 that requires you to update the firmware on Windows first. I wonder why Concept2 does not offer a card that does the updating or a free factory update for the PM3.

I have three computers using Windows, but would like to do a side project turning one of them into a Linux machine. Microsoft just sucks. I have an external hard drive now to save important information for when XP gets bad enough and I need a reformat. One of these days I will transfer all needed files to the external and put Linux on one of my machines.

If I buy another computer I think I will switch to Mac.
