No doubt it would have been different in Europe with other manufacturers around but I would have thought C2 being an American company would have ruled the rivers and lakes in the USA.
My perception in this and other matters is that US consumers are less likely to feel the same need to "buy American" that you might find in Australia or New Zealand about a home-grown product. C2 has a natural advantage in the US as a US company, sure, but there are plenty of people willing to buy a foreign product they perceive as superior, even if it costs a lot more (in some cases, especially if it costs a lot more). Maybe we are just a bit less insecure than others

Just a thought.

I'm a first time poster but fifteen year user of the Concept 2 Rower. I think your image is of a high quality "niche" fitness equipment company with a dedicated customer base whose devotion to the sport and the company border on the cultish. I've owned a B, a C and now a D and have always been challenged and satisfied. I also have a DYNO which I think you seriously under-promote (I was amazed at how much more the UK "gets" its sport-specific utility). I would suspect you wrestle with the question of how big are you willing to be and what that would mean to your corporate and customer culture. But you can't stand still. Time and the market won't allow it. Thanks for the chance to comment.

'Other rowing machines' do not come to mind - Concept2 is all I know and I'm happy with them.
I'd agree with a previous writer though who stated the knowledge of the machines at gyms is just about zilch!! There should definitely be training supplied when machines are installed. I shudder when I see a new gymee sitting down on the erg and being told to 'put the lever up the top' and row fast for 10 mins. A sure way of not returning I would think.
Training programmes and the issue of information to new ergers would benefit all concerned I'm sure.

"No Compromise: neither in quality nor in service"How about that?
Ive been using Concept2 Indoor Rower D, from which I get much self satisfaction out of, and do think Concept2 indoor rower is the only rower out there that looks as if something I would invest my money on.
Other people may have differing views on the looks and functions of different rowers out there, but to me, all others except Concept2 look a bit 'odd'.
