Just finished my first April CTC attempt. I am fairly happy with it, for a first try. Now if only I hadn't been such a piggie in the weeks since AIRC, I would be able to rank it as a LWT. Maybe I will be back under 135 for the next attempt.

Distance - Time - Pace - SR - End HR
10000m - 41:27.9 - 2:04.4 - 27 - 186

April is Taff month (at least with the CTC). Let's see if we can hit the gold this month eh?
Let's do it!

I plan to do 2 a week at 10MPS and one a week unrestricted and my other row to be an HM (preparing for a marathon before the season ends).
I reckon I have a few more PB's coming this month, hopefully break into the 41:xx
That's the whole point, to get all of us rowing our best in each CTC piece! :D

Helen, looking forward to your progress reports on the 10K. It's really a great distance, I hope you get to like this one as much as I do. On the short ones like 300 or Rugby I have to do a 5K--7K warmup before I'm any good at them, but for a 10K, 1500m is good enough and you're off!

One more CTC entrant of any kind (HWT, LWT, Female) and we'll have the first boat full. Let's beat Team Oarsome to the punch!

Well Idid it :D I may be last on the leader board but I have put Taff attack in the lead :!: And never one to turn down a challenge(Brendo said I should aim for 2.12 pace by the end of the month) I did it in 43.44.1 at a 2.11.2 pace.
Does that mean I can put my feet up now????

Awesome, Helen! Yay for Taff 1!!

Do you have a PM3? If you do, next time just use ReRow and try to stay right with the pace boat until say 1K--500m to go and then let her loose!

Right, that's it. The Taff Attack CTC is finished - cancelled for the rest of the month.

I did a slow ploddy 10K today 39:38.4 (and pushed Daren into TAFF II) - TAFF I has the Gold medal.

We have the first complete boat.

Darn, Dougie! I was enjoying my very brief moment as the fastest Taff in the boat. :)

So, out of curiousity... why did Daren get bumped? Not that I am complaining - nice to have two girls in the first boat, even if just for a while.

I'm not sure, actually. I think the boat-filling algorithm is still a little bugged. Assuming Dougie is in the LWT seat, Paul and Brendin are sitting in 2 of the 3 Open seats, and Krysta is in the female seat, I think I should be sitting in the last Open seat ahead of Helen.

If I get a chance before too many other people have added times for Taff Attack, I'll take a look at the algorithm and see where it's getting confused.

Daren's programming for a "standard boat" chooses the fastest three HWTs, then fastest LWT male, then fastest female. If it can't do that then he substitutes LWT men for HWTs and substitutes women for LWTs.

So Daren getting shoved into TAFF II is a product of Daren's excellent programming for his excellent website.

Well, I still think it's bugged. =) The LWT seat can be male or female, but both of the ladies in our boat are HWTs, so one of them must be sitting in an Open seat. Since I'm slightly faster than Helen, it should be me. I think. Anyway, I dare say it won't matter once some more people have posted times, anyway.

I must admit it had me confused but I wasn't complaining!
It was my temporary moment of glory. Maybe it's because I'm a heavy weight, there has to be some advantages of being a fatty!
