Row4life, you come onto the forum and share no information, what do you have to hide? Do you have the same qualities and values of the erging world as a certain other individual of this forum?

What information would you like? Maybe the atomic weight of helium? I can get that for you.

So it is OK for you to call me a cheat but not for me to call someone else a cheat. I have not made claims yet I am a cheat.

Would anyone want to be in a Team with morals like that? Next you will be saying it is fine to compete on slides while others row without.

You ranked an individual time that was shown to have been rowed by a relay team. That makes you a cheat. None of Dwayne's ranked times have fallen under the same determination. So, yes, it's different. You are a cheat because you have been shown to be such. Dwayne, as yet, hasn't.

I have no opinion regarding slides, really. I haven't seen conclusive evidence that they offer a measurable advantage (I'm not saying such evidence doesn't exist, it may).

Aside from specific rules forbidding such a thing, why wouldn't it be? There is no scientific evidence that Slides provide an advantage, in fact it appears that they place the athlete at a bit of a disadvantage in overall output, by shortening the length (cm) of the stroke a bit.

Back to the topic, the Indoor Rowing M40-49 2k WR is probably the longest standing WR of all, it was set by one of the greatest scullers of all time, which makes that no particular surprise. Even the Open WR has been a low mark for a considerable amount of time, in spite of the latest "wunderkind" making respective stated attempts to change that. The lesson to be learned is that as you approach the limit of your capability the difference between finishing 2 seconds slower and breaking through to the other side is a vast chasm.

Finally, it doesn't really matter what anyone else says they can do, all we can do is work as hard as we possibly can to perform at the very peak of our ability on the day required. Only our training determines this, noone elses.

It's no big deal being beaten, just don't lose! B)

If you do, i'm leaving immediatley, p.s. dont you have to race to be a member of Taff Attack Racing.

Note to Chad: I mean you actually have to race, not just tell everyone that you will

Why not, Owen? If you're "beaten" someone else did it...and it's therefore out of your control (that's why it's no big deal--not pleasant, but no big deal). If you "lose," it's something you did...and therefore within your control. So control it. (Make sure if you don't win, it's because you were beaten--as in, did you absolute best.)

Win if you can, if you're beaten, ok, but don't lose.

Alissa
