when I erg at home (i.e. not during the crew season) I erg on my deck it's big and has solid walls that are 4 1/2 feet high so people can't see in. and it geta an awesome breeze. and being that it is california... it is usually nice out (till the fog rolls in)

I checked "basement," but here in New England it's properly called a "cellar."

I think a basement is someplace you could put an erg, while a cellar is a mudhole. I have a cellar.

yes, my basement is furnished and all. rug, couch, bed, television. the whole bit.

a cellar kinda reminds me of like a wine cellar where you store things.
