University Club Standings

Post by tennstrike » May 3rd, 2006, 1:06 pm

The link on my log page for University Club is still:

http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/chal ... gs2006.asp

If I merely change the 6 to a 7, I get the right page. Is this something of mine or something that needs fixing on your end.

Thanks,

if you are from the UK and are using the "UK" version of the ranking - this is something that david hart will update - you will note that none of the dates are corrected yet on the uk (or other language) website - i expect that this will take a few days.

I'm using the US version on the concept2.com web site. My Profile language is set to "American/Canadian English".

My user name and password are identical on the U.K. site, but I always log into the U.S. site. Should I/must I change something?

Ah ha, that explains why I've not seen the problem that Jane and Matt have been reporting on the UK forum. I have my profile set to American/Canadian (despite the fact that I'm not a colonial).

Emphasis added.

Bill, I was looking around and see that while the 2005 boards are available and the 2007, the 2006 seems to be MIA...

Note that because your team affiliation is "live" for all current and prior university standing pages - the 2006 numbers could still change slightly if people start to change around their team membership...

Bill, I'm still not seeing any 2006 data at all. When I go to "Challenges", then the "Annual Meters Honor Board", then "2006 board", I still get Image
now showing day 369, etc. but no info. The 2005 historical data is still there and accessible...

this is a mystery to me - i just visited:

http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/chal ... aily=10000

and saw all the results - i've coded out the day counter - but haven't made any other changes. There may be some sort of cookie/cache issue going on?

I was seeing exactly the same problem but it went away today.

Except that the average meters/day are still wrong (divided the total meters by 369 it appears)... as are the projected meters (which is the incorrect average multiplied by 365).

And today the 2006 season averages are based on a 370 day year...

Hey Bill:

I deleted all cookies and that solved most of my problems. Like others I had been getting the no data comment and no longer am. Don't know if it was the deletion of cookies or something got fixed.

Thanks for all the work.

Bill, I was ready to replace cookies (since that was the fix being reported), but took one last look...

No problem. Data available. Haven't a clue, so I assume you fixed it! Thanks!

Just so this doesn't drop - as I've not heard any response regarding it yet - the average daily meters on the 2006 season board will continue to drop, as they are being divided by an ever-increasing number of days (which aren't being displayed in the counter anymore, but that doesn't change the calculations). Tomorrow there will be 371 days in the 2006 season!

As an example of what I mean, take Eric Nelson's entry at the top of the 2006 honor board... it says his average is 43,932m/day, but his average is really 44534m/day if you take his total and divide by 365. If nothing is done about this, tomorrow his "average" will be 43814m/day, and at the end of the month it'll be 41048m/day.

This problem doesn't exist for the 2005 honor board.

To look at this another way, we now have 16 people who used to be in the 10000+ meters/day section of the 2006 season honor board, but have now slipped to the 7500+ section.

http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/chal ... daily=7500
(page 2) has me with

Dougie Lawson 43 Basingstoke Hampshire GBR 3,012,158 8,075 2,947,375

It should show int(3012158/365) == 8252 metres per day and a projected total equal to the actual total. So the maths is going wrong.

I didn't do enough metres to get on the 2004/5 table.
