It's a bit hopeless.
Couldn't somebody with the skills of Dougie or Daren set up a more stable forum for us all to use perhaps?

I think Chris Rowe is doing a good job, bearing in mind that phpBB2 (which runs the forum) is the most common target for scammers, spammers and virus writers of anything out on the Internet. I wouldn't want to run the forum, it's a full time job.

What is the difference between the US and the UK, is it just the host?

Host, hardware, php and phpBB version (+ mods on that forum). The folks doing the admin and moderation are different too.

Most computer systems that are going to fail will fail under the heaviest load. That's Murphy's first law of computing.

I don't think all these problems are acceptable, if I was running a company with this much downtime I would be kicking some a***e by now. It has got worse in recent months, lets have some reliability please!
I maintain my clubs website, nothing fancy, but when the host company was down more than was right I voted with my mouse and moved :)
