Converting watts to avg/500m

Post by Samson » November 20th, 2007, 4:45 pm

Hi everyone,

I read a couple of essays about training on the erg, which said that there was a formula to convert watts into an avg/500m time. Unfortunately the formula was never stated so I wonder if any of you could help me.

kindly, Samson

Power = 2.8 * velocity^3

velocity is in meters per second so divide 500 by the pace, cube it, then multiply by 2.8.
