Anyone esle going again?
While I've probably got the best chances of improving our overall score, the experience was so unpleasant, being the first thing I did after returning from Holiday, my brain just can't get around trying it.

Your time was fantastic, and if you can improve on it, that will be double impressive. Each half second improvement gets us another 0.1 for the Boat Avg, and that's tough to do, when you are already 'really fast'.

Paul,

You've been spending too much time on the U.K. Forum. You are forgetting how to use American English.

I'll play.

We had a fairly good showing last month! Mostly thanks to a great time by FB4. I'm sure he'll be our horse again!

Hi FB Team mates. A great showing in the CTC. Did we get 6th pace in the final standings? B)

This next challenge also suits my sprint training like last months, so I am happy to take part, it would be great if we could again post a full team result.
I have been doing a lot of 500x4 sessions but with 1.30 rest, so the extra rest will come in useful.

Over the last few months I have hit 500x4 with 1.30 rest all sub 1.20 (1.19.8) split so with the extra 30secs I should be aiming for what PaulS?

Good luck all.

Since you have a baseline for a similar performance already, I'd suggest sticking pretty close to what you know, 1:19.0 would be fantastic stuff. If you are feeling particularly aggressive, perhaps try for 1:18.0. Each second in that rareified air is getting pretty tough to come by.

I see that Pete Marston has put up an outstanding 1:30.0 early in the month.

Had my first go at this with the 2 mins rest. The extra 30 seconds recovery makes a big difference.

1.19.7 r38
1.19.7 r38
1.19.7 r38
1.18.9 r38

This was a controlled effort and I could have really hit the last one hard but realised that it would not matter how fast I went on the last one.

Target will be 1.18.5

Awesome Chad :!: I think I might go find another sport :?

Didn't really know how to attack this one but will see how it goes over the month but managed to scrape into the top 10

1:37.6
1:37.5
1:37.4
1:36.9

rate was about 29/30spm and probably could have kept going for a few more, but it was fun as its all over pretty quick.

After months of specialised weights and sprint training I made the mistake of doing a 2K test.
This really does go to prove that each distance requires specific training to get the best results.

I totally destroyed myself by 1200m and had to crawl in with a time of 6.07.9.
I will be having another go at CTC this week.

FB5, Great effort, have another go by the end of the month and you will beat your time. Go Go Fat Boys.

Nice Crawl.

The bad memory of the 666m has nearly faded, so the 4 x 500 is becoming more palatable.

Fat Boys. I have had a PM telling me that some people are questioning my CTC time. That is fair enough and their right to do so. I think it is only fair that I remove myself from the CTC for now and arrange for a screen shot of my next attempt (which should be quicker).

I have always thought it would be a good idea for the top 3 rowers in the CTC to post pictures / images of their best efforts.

Edit-
I had to put myself to the bottom of the CTC as it will not let me remove the time.

No problemo, it will be fun to see a 4 x 500m in a really fast time, the first line should read something like "2k 5:1x.x 35" if you use a PM3/PM4.

Will the author of the PM come forward after this happens, along with the "some people"? It would be nice if they would take their shame publicly.

I'm not the culprit, but I wonder who Chad is, or even whether Chad truly exists. He has not identified himself, and his own questioning of others has opened his own scores and identity to doubt.

Chad, whomever he may be, recognizes that. Good for him.

Until a couple of Forumites whom I know testify to his identity, I'll have doubts about him. Not that I think Chad cares.

Or he could perform at a public race. If my memory hasn't gone bad, I believe he's offered that suggestion to others.

Hey Chad I missed your time and would love to hear about it - pace/drag/rate etc if you want to post it on here, its pretty inspirational. I agree that when your out of the ballpark a picture can help set the scene :D

Had another go today a little quicker, it is a fun session and I am keen to see where it ends up by month end:-

Logged time on the 4th June 1:37.6 - (best time 1:36.9)

Logged time on the 6th June 1:35.9 - (best time 1:35.6)

Logged time on the 10th June 1:34.8 / 110df / 32spm - (best time 1:33.6)

getting a bit better with the pacing and for once had a nice smooth erg at the gym
