Hi,
I recently bought a model B erg for home. I'm used to using a model d with PM3 monitor and find the lack of features on the PM1 monitor (i think standard with model b) frustrating. If I wanted to upgrade to a PM3, could I just buy any old PM3 monitor, attatch it, plug it in and have it working? Or would I need a 'retrofit' monitor for it to work at all?
Sorry, I'm a bit of a newbie on the tech side
Thanks in advance for any advice/answers
using a PM3 on a model B - "RETROFIT"?!

You will need the mount that comes with the retrofit kit to have a nice fit with the Model B cage (Some have kluged together arms of wood and such, but that's a matter of personal preference.), but aside from that yes any old PM3 will do (If it's set up for a Model D you will have to give it a little secret handshake and maybe even change a jumper in the battery compartment, but if it's set for a model C it would be "plug and play".)thejoker wrote:Hi,

Or you could try ErgMonitor if you have a computer in the same room as the Erg, or a laptop that can be used when needed. See the web site below for details, it's virtually free for the trial period (a few bits from radio shack needed). WARNING: PM3 data will never seem the same after ErgMonitor...
