Post by sammac112 » March 8th, 2007, 10:04 pm

Does anyone know which college summer rowing camps ared regarded as the best? I am looking for a competative atmosphere.

Thanks.

I went to Yale's and Northeast. They were both a lot of fun and I learned a lot, but I think Yale was more fun. The one bad thing was I had like none of my friends there, but other than that it was still fun.

You might just want to row Junior B's or Junior A's at West Side. I think most people at West Side either row for the club over the summer, and the only people who don't are those trying out for JNT.

There was a large group of coaches at Northeast, including Yale lightweight, BU heavyweight, and also MIT and Harvard women's coaches.

the NAVY camps are good. There are a lot of different college coaches there and they answer a lot of questions. The facilities there are definatly state of the art as well (except the dorms)
I believe there is one at Princeton as well that is supposed to be very good.

If you want to scull you probably would want to go with a non-college camp like Craftsbury.
