Xeno, how do you think the RowPerfect compares to using a C2 on slides? Do the slides compensate for most of the 'negatives' with the fixed erg?
I currently have a C2 and was planning on buying slides for winter training, but I begin to wonder if that's the way to go. Thoughts? (Since you've seen them both....)

Get the Slides, you will be happy with them. I have nothing against the RP, and have used it several times, however I do get a bit put off when the marketing talk starts requiring hip waders. Never like to be BS'ed. Yes, I know, they have to do what they have to do, but sheesh, just tell the truth and it solves all the other problems. There is no reason to say things that are simply silly "The only Rowing Simulator", give me a break! It does take up less room than a C2 on Slides if that is important, though it still requires a similar space to opperate in.julieofarc wrote:Xeno, how do you think the RowPerfect compares to using a C2 on slides? Hi Paul
What are hip waders?
When I row the Rowperfect it feels ligher and smoother the recovery. The mass that is pushed back and forth on the Rowperfect is half the weight that is pushed back and forth when rowing the model D on slides.
The footprint is smaller than the C2 with slides which makes getting on and off between a row of ergos less of a hazardous.
Currently the prodcution is zero and Rowperfect prototypes are being tested such as the one you can see on our webcam.
I hope this helped Julie,
Sincerely,
XENO

Hip waders are long rubber boots that keep the muck off your legs as it piles up around your feet.
I'm not quite so sensitive to the difference in moving masses, in fact I put my D back on the ground last week to row with a student of mine and after a couple of strokes it felt no different than being on the slides. The visual sensation was a bit different, seat moving relative ot the floor, but the rest of it, as well as the force profile being produced remained consistent.
The RP does make a nice whooshing sound that reminds me of the Model B, and that's kind of fun to hear.
Cheers.
