whew! just got back from the henley! im pooped!
no medals unfortunatley for any 3 of my boats
i was in junior B 8, junior mens 4 (U17 i think), and mens 8 500m dash
came in 4/5 in the junior B 8, haha. good effort though.
junior mens 4 came in last, grrrrrrr. horrible conditions, thats what i blame that on.
and last but not least...the 500m dash. OH BOY. is all i have to say. and that is not a good 'oh boy'. we were at the line, we were the smallest, youngest, weekest boat out there. VERY intimidating, none of us were over 17 and our stroke was the only one that was that old. the kids we raced were all college kids (totally unfair). we get all lined up, get a yellow card for being late, of course. so the guy says attention, *beep noise* and were off. now, i have proof for the next part. we were first off the line for at least 200m! and we were destroying these college kids!!!!! i have pictures and video! but then....the worst. 4 seats oar popped out of the rigger and he couldnt get it back in, we eventually got caught up to and lost the race, sooooo dissapointing. our coach was though proud of our start and he congradulated us. THE END.
