Re: College Erg Times
Although I couldn't find anyone specifically affiliated with Harvard University in the open men's division of the 2006 CRASH-B (other than one guy from their law school), I'm guessing Harvard heavies can keep up with the best of the college entrants.7seat wrote:What are average college erg times for Heavyweight Guys? For whatever it's worth, the current 7 seat in the Harvard Varsity 8 (Australian Toby Medaris) rowed a 6:14.9 in 2005 at the Crash-Bs and finished 42nd. I think as a sophomore.
You can get a fairly decent idea of the top end of erg scores by looking at the US National Team Testing results, available on line via USRowing.com
Here's a link to a pdf file with the April 2006 2k test results for Open men
By no means do the Test results include everyone (some don't submit scores; international collegians in US programs aren't eligible; etc.), but they're certainly representative.
One other thing -- OTW programs that are not particularly prominent nationally may well have superb individual athletes. Consider Loyola Marymount collegian Warren Anderson, who turned in a 5:53.9 2k in the May testing.
