My PB for 2000m is 5.58.1. My main aim is to go as fast as possible over the 2000m distance, hammers and World Records (if they come) will be a bonus.RowtheRockies wrote:I remember from a long ago post that you had a PB real close to 6 or maybe just under six. Best of luck to you in your pursuit of a Hammer and a WR. I am excited to watch your progress.

Interval training will be introduced after my 2000m test which is in 2 weeks time, this test is to set my interval targets in the build up to BiRC

Do you do any on water rowing?
If so what boat?
Good luck with your preperations for your planned indoor races and breaking the 40y.o HW record.
I had my best chance back in 2004 and could not get there. It was disappointing. Recurrent injuries appear to have put my best times behind me.
Cheers

Yes I do row on the water, I have not been doing it that long though, I am part of a novice 8 and row stroke.FB1 wrote: Do you do any on water rowing?

I may big and powerful but I am not very good at getting the boat to move fast on the water.
FB1, what is you 2000m best time and at what age did you do it?

My best witnessed time trial 2000 is 5:55.9 at age 36, i am only 6'1" and at the time around 215lb. My best 40+ was in 2002 5:58.7 at around 205lb, this was done again during a witnessed time trial just before we won the World Surfboat Championships Masters division.FB1, what is you 2000m best time and at what age did you do it?
In 2004 a week after the World titles i did a videoed 1:18.2 / 500m which was the WR at the time! I was not however able to improve my 2000m HW PB.
Best to you in your attempts.
Gary

Gary, those are very impressive set of scores, your 500m time is extremely good taking you lack of height into account. I have pulled a 500m time of 1.18 but I have a massive height and weight advantage over you.FB1 wrote:My best witnessed time trial 2000 is 5:55.9 at age 36, i am only 6'1" and at the time around 215lb. Hehe, I'm fully expecting Chad to claim that it wasn't a "first past the post" poll, but required a 60/40 split in favour of him leaving before he'd take that as meaningful... =)polaco wrote:C'mon 3 points is nothing!!! and I'm sure that dadams, row4life, row4lyfe have voted separately![]()

Although I don't agree with everything you have to say and the way you have attacked Dwayne, I voted for you to stay. Not because I believe in freedom of speech but because you are controversial and I admire those characters more than the reserved and conservative types.
Another controversial character, Ranger, who hasn't been around much lately, is missed from this forum and I wouldn't want you to follow suit. However, "village idiots" such as Jonny Rupp, who make frequent nuisance posts in order to draw attention to themselves, ruin threads and spoil peoples experiences on this forum. Such people would not be missed from this forum. I don't put you in the same category as them, not yet anyway.

PBs: 2K 6:13.4, 5K 16:32, 6K 19:55, 10K 33:49, 30min 8849m, 60min 17,309m
Caution: Static C2 ergs can ruin your technique and timing for rowing in a boat.
The best thing I ever did to improve my rowing was to sell my C2 and get a Rowperfect.
