New Member Introduction – Excited to Join the Concept2 Community!

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to be part of the Concept2 forum! As someone who is passionate about fitness and rowing, I’ve recently started using a Concept2 rower and am eager to connect with others who share this interest. I’m looking forward to learning more about training techniques, rowing performance tips, and sharing my own progress.

I’m particularly interested in discovering effective workout plans, tips for maintaining the equipment, and improving my overall rowing form. Can’t wait to dive into the discussions and engage with this amazing community!

Welcome, just ask away and we will try and answer any questions. Alternatively just let us know the stats of your rowing and your priorities, age, height etc. and we can make suggestions. As said on many threads, it is worth spending some time initially trying to copy some of the excellent rowing forms on Utube etc. at a modest pace and slow stroke. Its not difficult, but not always intuitive either. Also look up "Drag Factor" if you haven't already explored this.

Rowing usually starts with a coach telling us how it's done, to avoid putting a foot through the hull or catch crabs. Nonesuch can happen on an erg, but we can damage ourselves. So make sure you learn how: rowing is hard work that repeats the same action thousands of times.

If done well it's the safest sport there is, despite, or maybe thanks to, all that hard work from the legs going through back, shoulders, arms and hands.

Also, we learn about the erg itself: it measures the Power we deliver and shows the results all too clearly, if we press the right buttons.

Searching the C2 site, it's hard to find a question that's not answered in full detail.
